Torque plates are used during the machining process to simulate the block distortion that is present when the cylinder head is bolted on. Top level engine builders and machinists insist on their use to ensure the best possible result for both performance and routine rebuilds.
Made from 6061-T6 aluminum, our torque plates match the original head dimensions to ensure the closest representation of the actual cylinder head is utilized. For this reason, standard bolts or studs can be used without issue.
These torque plates are normally provided in 1mm over standard bore for tool clearance. If a custom bore is required, please let us know. We can produce torque plates for any engine, so if your application is not listed, contact us for details on how to have a custom torque plate produced.
